Every small business deserves a real finance department

BesTally is a virtual bookkeeping and compliance firm based in Harare. We work online every day and come to your office or site whenever being there helps. We exist so owners can stop guessing, stop scrambling and start running their business on clear, reliable numbers.

Bes+Tally

Bes comes from our founder's middle name, Bester. A tally is the oldest way of counting: four strokes and a slash for five. Together they make BesTally, and if you say it quickly, your best ally.

Every number counted, checked and in order.

Why we started

Running a small business in Zimbabwe means keeping USD and ZiG straight, meeting ZIMRA deadlines, keeping tax clearance valid for tenders and convincing the bank you are worth a loan. Most owners do all of this on top of actually running the business.

The usual options did not fit. Generalist firms bill by the hour and send reports months late. Spreadsheets and shoeboxes of receipts break down as soon as the business grows.

BesTally brings the two things our founder knows best together: accounting and technology. Fixed monthly fees, our own tools doing the repetitive work, and real people checking every number and explaining it in plain language.

We are a new firm, and proud of it. Our first clients get founding-client pricing and a direct line to the founder.

Kept separate, on purpose

BesTally is a bookkeeping firm. We do not build software or sell systems. The tools our bookkeepers use, Prism XP and Ledger OS, are built by Aidoqo, a technology company also owned by our founder, and licensed to BesTally on normal commercial terms.

The two businesses have separate contracts, invoices, logins and confidentiality agreements. BesTally never reviews systems Aidoqo installed, and if we ever recommend Aidoqo, we tell you in writing and offer at least one alternative.
